Ghana Police Band to Represent Ghana at Notting Hill and Boston Caribbean Carnivals

The Ghana Police Band has received a special invitation from the World Carnival Commission to represent Ghana at two major international cultural festivals — the Notting Hill Carnival in the United Kingdom and the Boston Caribbean Carnival in the United States later this August.
The invitation recognises Ghana's rich musical heritage and the country's growing influence in global conversations around African and Caribbean identity.
For the Ghana Police Band, the participation goes beyond an international performance. It provides an opportunity to showcase Ghanaian discipline, rhythm and national pride to millions of spectators across the world.
The Notting Hill Carnival, held annually in West London, began in 1966 as a celebration of Caribbean culture and identity amid racial tensions in post-war Britain. It has since grown into Europe's largest street festival, attracting more than two million visitors every August.
The festival celebrates Caribbean music, dance, costumes and cuisine, while also contributing significantly to London's tourism and local business economy.
