Sen. Rand Paul, R-KY, who has accused Dr. Anthony Fauci of downplaying the Covid-19 pandemic in public, declined to criticize President Donald Trump for his documented efforts to do the same thing. Paul dodges the question of whether Donald Trump should face the same scrutiny he places on Fauci, instead turning to attacks on Fauci's involvement with gain-of-function research.
