The importance of fairness, transparency and due process in investigations has come under discussion, with calls for accountability mechanisms to remain independent of political influence.
Former Anyaa Sowutwom MP, Dr Dickson Adomako Kissi, has cautioned against vindictive politics, urging institutions such as the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) to ensure their investigations are guided by fairness and the rule of law.
He stressed that individuals must not be labelled corrupt before due process is completed, warning that political circumstances can change and any person could become a target.
MP for Yendi, Abdul-Fatawu Alhassan, also called for investigations into alleged wrongdoing to follow due process and remain guided by the law rather than political considerations.
Meanwhile, Editor of the Herald Newspaper, Larry Dogbey, emphasised that credible investigations must involve hearing all sides and should continue regardless of changes in government.
The panel discusses accountability, justice and the need to protect public confidence in Ghana's institutions.
