Used-car dealers in Ghana are calling for the withdrawal of the planned Pre-Export Verification of Conformity (PVoC) programme for vehicle imports.

The dealers warn that the policy, scheduled to take effect on October 1, 2026, could threaten livelihoods and result in widespread job losses across the automobile industry.

They argue that the new verification requirements may increase costs and create additional challenges for businesses involved in the importation and sale of used vehicles.
