NPP Insists August 6 Demonstration Will Go Ahead Despite Opposition

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) says it will proceed with its planned August 6 demonstration despite opposition to the protest.

The party says the demonstration is against what it describes as unhealthy democratic practices under President John Dramani Mahama's administration.

Addressing journalists after a meeting with the Greater Accra Regional Police Command, the NPP maintained that the protest will come off as scheduled.

The party has outlined concerns it says are affecting Ghana's democratic institutions and is calling on its supporters to participate in the demonstration.
