NPP Confirms August 6 Protest Against ‘Selective Justice’ and Threats to Democracy

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has reaffirmed plans to stage a demonstration on Thursday, August 6, over what it describes as selective justice, threats to judicial independence, suppression of free speech and the erosion of Ghana's democracy.
Addressing the media after securing approval from the Greater Accra Regional Police Command, the party's National Organiser, Henry Nana Boakye, popularly known as Nana B, outlined the roadmap for the protest.
According to Nana B, the demonstration will begin from the Supreme Court and proceed to the Jubilee House, as the party seeks to draw attention to its concerns about developments it believes threaten Ghana's democratic institutions.
The NPP says the protest is part of efforts to defend democratic principles and demand accountability.
