EPA Vows Strict Enforcement of New Methane Emission Guidelines

The Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) says it is committed to ensuring the full implementation of Ghana's new methane emission guidelines.
Director for Corporate Affairs at the EPA, Audrey Quarcoo, said the Authority will work to ensure the guidelines are effectively enforced and deliver measurable results.
She made the remarks on behalf of the EPA Chief Executive Officer at the launch of the new guidelines, which are aimed at strengthening the monitoring, prevention and control of methane emissions within the petroleum sector.
The initiative is expected to support responsible energy production while reducing environmental and economic risks associated with methane releases.
