Takoradi Residents Curious Over New Monument at Effia Nkwanta Hospital Site

A new structure has appeared at the site of the controversial statue of former President Nana Akufo-Addo in front of the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital in Takoradi.
The earlier statue, which was vandalised by unknown persons, has been replaced by a newly installed monument that is currently covered with protective material.
Residents of the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis discovered the wrapped structure on Monday, August 3, with its outline suggesting a possible representation of a hospital bed with a patient lying on it.
Checks by Channel One TV News with a source at the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly indicate that the Assembly did not finance the construction of the new monument.
The identity, purpose and ownership of the new structure remain unclear, with residents awaiting its official unveiling amid growing curiosity and speculation.
