Pedestrians are urging authorities to urgently begin rehabilitation works on the closed Kaneshie Market footbridges, warning that the delay is putting lives at risk.
The commuters say the absence of safe crossing points has forced many people to cross the busy highway, increasing the risk of accidents and pedestrian knockdowns.
The two footbridges were closed on April 2 due to structural deterioration, with authorities earlier announcing plans to commence repairs.
However, pedestrians say the prolonged delay is creating serious safety concerns and are calling for immediate action to restore safe passage.
