Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu has clarified that Chinese, Arabic and French will not be compulsory subjects under Ghana's proposed new basic school curriculum.
The Minister explained that the languages will remain optional, while English and Ghanaian languages will continue to serve as the main languages of instruction.
The clarification follows discussions and public concerns over proposed changes to the basic education curriculum.
