The Member of Parliament for Akwatia, Bernard Bediako Baidoo, has defended the Court of Appeal's decision to acquit and discharge former MASLOC Chief Executive Sedina Tamakloe-Attionu.
Speaking on Channel One TV's The Big Issue, the lawmaker argued that the former MASLOC boss was convicted without being given the opportunity to properly present her defence.
However, other panellists on the programme cautioned that the ruling could affect public confidence in Ghana's fight against corruption, especially amid concerns that politically exposed persons may receive favourable treatment.
