The University of Mines and Technology (UMaT) has officially invested Professor Bernard Kumi-Boateng as its fourth Vice Chancellor following the completion of Professor Richard Kwasi Amankwah's six-year tenure.

Professor Kumi-Boateng, a distinguished geomatics engineer and the first alumnus of UMaT to lead the institution, has outlined his vision to transform the university into the “MIT of Africa.”

His agenda focuses on innovation, financial sustainability, quality teaching and research, and accountable leadership as he begins his tenure.
