'NDC Hides Behind Legal Technicalities' - Ahiagbah on Tamakloe's Acquittal

NPP Director of Communications Richard Ahiagbah reacts to the Court of Appeal's acquittal of former MASLOC CEO Sedina Tamakloe-Attionu, drawing a pointed comparison to the ongoing case against former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta.

"If Sedina Tamakloe had already committed the State to the transaction, what is the logic in seeking to punish Ken Ofori-Atta for renegotiating a contract he inherited, rather than Sedina herself?"

"We cannot say because Ken Ofori-Atta paid the cost Sedina had already committed the State to; she should be allowed to walk free."

"The State has lost resources, and those responsible must be held accountable. Yet the NDC's response is to rely on legal technicalities to shield its officials from accountability."

Speaking on TV3's The Key Points, Ahiagbah argued that the ruling undermines Ghana's collective fight against corruption and accused the governing NDC of using legal technicalities to protect its own officials, even as the party continues to pursue the Office of the Special Prosecutor's case against Ofori-Atta over contracts signed during his tenure.
