Mining Leases: Minority Raises Concerns Over Agreements Approved by Parliament

Ranking Member on Parliament's Lands and Natural Resources Committee, Kwaku Ampratwum-Sarpong, has criticised the Minerals Commission over alleged flaws in six mining lease agreements approved by Parliament.

The MP described the process as rushed and raised concerns over what he says are inconsistencies and defects contained in the documents presented for approval.

His comments come amid ongoing discussions over mining agreements, regulatory processes and the management of Ghana's mineral resources.
