HR Experts Push for Maternity and Paternity Leave for Adoptive, Surrogate Parents

HR professionals are calling for Ghana's next Labour Act to extend maternity and paternity leave provisions to adoptive and surrogate parents.

Group Head of HR and Administration at Bank of Africa, Eric Kojo Van-Ess Kuranchie, said the proposal was submitted during consultations on the new Labour Bill to allow adoptive and surrogate parents adequate time to bond with their children.

The call forms part of broader discussions on workplace policies, employee welfare and the need for more inclusive labour practices in Ghana.
