Ashanti Veterinary Director Raises Alarm Over Swine Fever Monitoring

The Ashanti Regional Veterinary Director, Dr. Mabel Abudu, has expressed concern that some pig farmers are denying veterinary officers access to their farms, making it difficult to monitor and control the spread of African Swine Fever.

According to Dr. Abudu, veterinary officers visit farms to educate farmers, provide technical support and strengthen disease surveillance to protect livestock.

She appealed to pig farmers to cooperate with veterinary officials to help prevent further outbreaks and safeguard the pig farming industry.
