Minority Slams Fuel Oil Levy Hike, Calls for Better Tax Compliance
The Minority in Parliament has criticised the increase in the fuel oil levy, arguing that the hike is unjustified and could increase production costs and drive up consumer prices.
The caucus says the levy will place additional pressure on businesses and households at a time when many are already facing economic challenges.
Instead of imposing higher levies, the Minority has urged the government to strengthen tax compliance and improve revenue mobilisation through more efficient tax collection.
