Minority Slams Minerals Commission Over ‘Flawed’ Mining Lease Agreements

The Minority in Parliament has criticised the Minerals Commission over what it describes as serious flaws in six mining lease agreements approved by Parliament.

The Ranking Member on the Lands and Natural Resources Committee, Kwaku Ampratwum-Sarpong, accused the Commission of producing substandard work, citing inconsistencies and defects in the agreements.

According to the Minority, the issues identified should have been thoroughly reviewed before the agreements were presented to Parliament for approval.

The comments follow Parliament's approval of the six mining lease agreements on Thursday.
