The enskinment of a new Regent for the Dagbon Kingdom has been marked by renewed calls for sustained peace to preserve the legacy of the late Overlord, Yaa Naa Abukari Mahama II.
The passing of the Overlord on July 11, 2026, has led to the enskinment of one of his sons as Regent to oversee the affairs of the kingdom until the completion of the final funeral rites.
Traditional leaders and stakeholders have emphasised the need for unity and stability as Dagbon begins this transition period.
The Regent is expected to provide leadership and ensure the continuity of the kingdom's affairs during the period leading up to the final rites.
