The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced plans to stage a nationwide protest on August 6, citing what it describes as actions threatening Ghana's democratic institutions.
The party is also accusing the government of influencing the judiciary following the Court of Appeal's decision to overturn the conviction of former MASLOC Chief Executive Officer, Sedina Tamakloe Attionu.
According to the NPP, the planned protest is intended to draw attention to concerns about the independence of key state institutions and the rule of law.
