Ghana to Inspect Vehicle Imports Before Shipment Under New Safety Programme

The Ghana Standards Authority (GSA) has set October 1, 2026, as the proposed start date for implementing the Pre-Export Verification of Conformity programme for vehicle imports.
The measure is expected to prevent vehicles that do not meet Ghana's safety and quality standards from being shipped into the country.
Deputy Director-General in charge of General Services at the Ghana Standards Authority, Samuel Abdulai Jabanyite, said the programme is also intended to help curb road crashes by ensuring only compliant vehicles enter Ghana.
