NPP to Hit the Streets on August 6 Over Sedina Tamakloe Court Ruling

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced plans to stage a nationwide protest on August 6, 2026, over what it describes as actions and practices undermining Ghana's democracy and the rule of law.

The planned protest follows the Court of Appeal's decision to acquit and discharge former MASLOC Chief Executive Officer Sedina Tamakloe-Attionu, who had earlier been convicted by the High Court and sentenced to 10 years' imprisonment.

Addressing the media, the party's National Organiser, Henry Nana Boakye (Nana B), said the demonstration will be organised in collaboration with other political parties, civil society organisations, professional groups, youth movements and concerned citizens.
