Member of Parliament for Ahafo Ano South East, Yakubu Mohammed, has issued an unqualified apology following public criticism over comments he made to a primary school pupil during a recent visit to Parliament.
The remarks, captured in a viral video, sparked widespread backlash after the MP complimented the girl's appearance and said he would marry her when she grows up.
Speaking to Channel One News after the reaction, Mr Mohammed acknowledged that his comments were inappropriate and admitted that they caused discomfort to the child, her family and members of the public, particularly women.
