Thousands Gather in Yendi for Installation of New Dagbon Regent

Thousands of sympathisers, chiefs and well-wishers have converged on Yendi, the traditional seat of the Dagbon Kingdom, to witness the installation of a Regent following the passing of the Overlord on July 11, 2026.
Amid the sound of traditional drumming and the firing of muskets, the ceremonial grounds continue to fill with mourners and dignitaries, while some customary rites are being performed behind closed doors ahead of the official installation.
