Cocoa Farmers to Get 70% of World Price Under New COCOBOD Law

Parliament has passed the Ghana Cocoa Board Bill, 2026, which seeks to guarantee cocoa farmers not less than 70 percent of the world market price realised by COCOBOD.
The legislation also establishes a contributory Cocoa Farmers Pension Scheme and an Educational Trust Scheme to support cocoa farmers and provide educational assistance for their children.
Deputy Finance Minister Thomas Nyarko Ampem highlighted other objectives of the bill on the floor of Parliament.
