Ghana's Joseph Paul Amoah has kept the country's gold medal hopes alive at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow after qualifying for the men's 200 metres final.
The Ghanaian sprinter produced a season's best performance of 20.24 seconds in Thursday's semi-final, matching the time recorded by Jamaica's Jevaughn Powell as both athletes advanced from a highly competitive race.
Botswana's Prince Phaezel Selepe followed with 20.31 seconds, while South Africa's Mthi Mthimkulu finished fourth in 20.39 seconds.
Amoah's qualification sets up another opportunity for Ghana to secure a medal in athletics as he prepares to compete in the men's 200m final.
