New York teens arrested after 'subway surfing'

Drone footage captured several teenagers riding the roof of a New York City subway train on July 20, 2026.

Officers tracked the teens and later arrested five of them, aged 12, 13, 14, and 15.

Police recovered six stolen Metro Transit Authority keys that can be used to access subway control areas.

The term “subway surfing” is popular among NYC teens and has led to serious injuries and deaths.
