Government Presents Support Packages to Children of August 6 Helicopter Crash Victims

Children and families of the eight victims of last year's military helicopter crash have officially received government compensation and support packages.

The packages include statutory compensation, comprehensive health insurance and a Children's Support Fund established to provide long-term assistance for the minor children of the deceased.

Under the initiative, 13 trust accounts have been created at Stanbic Bank, with each account seeded with GH¢1 million to support the educational and welfare needs of the children.

The support forms part of government's commitment to assisting the families of those who lost their lives in the tragic helicopter crash.
