Sabon Zongo Demolition Leaves Scores Displaced as Assembly Cites Crime Concerns

Scores of residents have been displaced following a demolition exercise by the Asokore Mampong Municipal Assembly at an enclave in Sabon Zongo in the Ashanti Region.

The Assembly says the exercise was necessary due to persistent complaints about rising crime in the area, with authorities describing the action as part of efforts to restore safety and order.

The demolition has, however, left several residents affected, with some losing their structures and livelihoods.
