Ghanaian Students in UK Petition British PM Over Unpaid Fees and Allowances

A group of Ghanaian government-sponsored students in the United Kingdom has petitioned the British Prime Minister over what they describe as more than 40 months of unpaid tuition fees and living allowances.
The students say the delays have pushed many into financial hardship, with some reportedly unable to access academic services because of outstanding fees, while others have allegedly been withdrawn from their programmes.
In their petition, the students accuse Ghana's High Commissioner to the UK of failing to adequately address their concerns and are calling for intervention to ensure outstanding tuition fees and stipends are paid.
They are urging the British Prime Minister to engage President John Dramani Mahama to help resolve the situation.
The Ghana Scholarships Authority and the Ghana High Commission in the UK are yet to respond to the allegations.
