After US strikes, Civilian toll rises as Iran warns allies and holds firm on Strait of Hormuz

US military strikes have targeted several Iranian cities along its southern coastline in the latest flare-up of tit-for-tat attacks between Iran and US forces. Iranian state media reported several civilians, including a mother, father, and two-year-old child killed in an attack on Qeshm Island, with two other children injured. At least three IRGC members were also killed in the strikes, which hit Kish Island, Fars province, Bushehr province, and four cities in Khuzestan province—the heart of Iran's oil industry and its economic lifeline. Iran launched retaliatory strikes targeting Kuwait and Jordan. On the diplomatic front, Oman proposed a joint management plan for the Strait of Hormuz, but Iran rejected it and submitted a counterproposal demanding full control of the inbound route and partial control of the outbound route. Iran has warned that if Oman rejects its proposal, the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed.
