Team Ghana Targets Gold at Commonwealth Games 2026 as Apokavie Remains Confident

The President of the Ghana Olympic Committee, Richard Apokavie, says he remains confident that Team Ghana can secure a gold medal at the ongoing 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
Ghana has already opened its medal account through para athlete Zinabu Issah, who won silver in the women's Shot Put F57 final, while boxer Amadu Mohammed is guaranteed at least a bronze medal after reaching the men's 55kg semi-finals.
With several Ghanaian athletes also progressing to the semi-finals in athletics and swimming, Apokavie believes the team has the talent and determination to add a gold medal to Ghana's medal tally before the Games conclude.
