The AngloGold Ashanti Iduapriem Mine has commissioned a Smart Systems Centre at the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT) in Tarkwa to strengthen research, innovation and digital skills development for Ghana's mining industry.
The state-of-the-art facility is expected to equip students and researchers with advanced technology and practical skills to support the future of smart mining, including the use of digital tools and innovative solutions in the mining sector.
The initiative forms part of efforts to bridge the gap between mining education, technology and industry needs as Ghana's mining sector evolves.
