The Executive Director of Transparency International Ghana, Mary Awalena Addah, has described the Supreme Court's decision against the delegate system used by political parties as a major boost for Ghana's anti-corruption efforts.
She says the ruling will promote meritocracy in Ghana's democracy by allowing broader participation in internal party elections and reducing the influence of money in selecting political candidates.
According to her, opening up the process to more party members will help create a fairer system and discourage political actors from using financial resources to sway internal elections.
