GRIDCo Investigates Nationwide Power Disturbance After Major Outage

The Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) has launched a technical investigation into a power system disturbance that disrupted electricity supply across parts of the country.
According to GRIDCo, the National Interconnected Transmission System experienced the disturbance at about 3:11 a.m. on Wednesday, causing several power generation plants to trip simultaneously and resulting in widespread power interruptions.
Speaking on Channel One TV's Breakfast Daily, Corporate Communications Manager of GRIDCo, Dzifa Gbeho-Bampoh, said a comprehensive investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the incident.
She added that GRIDCo is working with stakeholders across the power sector to restore stable electricity supply to affected customers and prevent future occurrences.
