Trump: Netanyahu ‘wants me to stay involved’ in Iran

US President Donald Trump pushed back on Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu this morning ahead of a consequential meeting with his Israeli counterpart, underscoring a strain in the relationship as he downplayed pressure to escalate the war with Iran. Trump was asked during an interview on Fox News' “Fox & Friends” about reports of Netanyahu's plans to share intelligence regarding Iran rebuilding its nuclear program.

“I don't need Bibi to tell me that. Bibi is telling me that because he wants me to stay involved,” Trump said. Later that same day, both met in a conversation described as “one of the best conversations” the two leaders have had, according to Netanyahu.
