32 Ghanaians Arrive Home From South Africa Under Government Evacuation Programme

Thirty-two Ghanaian nationals, including children, have arrived at the Kotoka International Airport under the second phase of government's voluntary evacuation programme from South Africa.

The exercise follows growing concerns over xenophobic attacks and anti-foreigner violence in parts of South Africa, which have prompted some Ghanaians to return home due to safety concerns.

Government says the evacuation programme is aimed at supporting Ghanaians who have chosen to return voluntarily while ensuring their safe arrival.
