New Juaben South Begins Spot Fines as Littering Offenders Face Arrest

The New Juaben South Municipal Assembly has intensified efforts to enforce sanitation laws by introducing spot fines for offenders who litter the environment.
The exercise targets drivers and passengers who dispose of waste indiscriminately, especially those who throw rubbish from moving vehicles.
A 22-year-old taxi driver, Godfred Nartey, was arrested after he was caught throwing rubbish from his moving vehicle along the Koforidua Kenkey Factory stretch. He was charged and fined GH¢100 in line with the municipality's bylaws.
The Environmental Officer for the municipality, Emmanuel Tetteh, says no one will be spared as authorities work to maintain a cleaner environment.
