The Centre for Policy Scrutiny says several government programmes are being under-delivered despite claims of strong performance across key targets in the first half of 2026.
The Centre argues that the 2026 Budget remains contractionary, contrary to government's position that it has exceeded most of its fiscal targets for the first half of the year.
Speaking at a presentation assessing the 2026 Mid-Year Budget Review, Executive Director of the Centre, Dr. Adu Owusu Sarkodie, highlighted implementation gaps and raised concerns about the pace and effectiveness of government spending and policy interventions.
The assessment adds to ongoing discussions about Ghana's fiscal direction, economic management and the impact of government programmes.
