Fish Mongers Relocated as Tema East Begins Major Clean-Up Exercise

The Tema East Sub-Metro has begun a demolition exercise at the fish mongering and drying site in Tema Newtown over concerns about poor sanitation along the shoreline.

Authorities say the exercise forms part of a major clean-up initiative aimed at creating a healthier environment for fish processing and trading activities.

Speaking to Channel One News, Chairman of the Tema East Sub-Metro, Gabby Sumaila Adjetey, said fish mongers were given adequate notice before the exercise and that the intervention was necessary to address public health concerns.
