Ghanaian swimmer Abeku Jackson has qualified for the semi-finals of the men's 50m butterfly at the ongoing 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

Jackson secured his place after finishing fourth in his heat with a time of 24.11 seconds, improving on his previous season's best of 24.22 seconds.

The performance marks an improvement on his showing at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, where he finished sixth in the same event.

Meanwhile, fellow Ghanaian swimmer Unilez Takyi missed out on qualification for the semi-finals of the women's 50m freeclass after finishing seventh in her heat with a time of 27.13 seconds.
