Gabon's President Oligui Nguema Pays Tribute to Kwame Nkrumah in Accra

President of Gabon, H.E. Gen. Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, visited the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park in Accra as part of his three-day state visit to Ghana, from July 28 to 30, 2026, at the invitation of President John Dramani Mahama.

Shortly after arriving in Accra, where he was received with full military honours by the Ghana Armed Forces, President Nguema toured the historic site, laid a wreath at the mausoleum of Ghana's founder, and signed the visitors' book in tribute to Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah's enduring vision for Pan-African unity and continental liberation.

The visit is part of a broader diplomatic engagement, with President Nguema expected to hold bilateral talks with President Mahama at the Jubilee House, focusing on cooperation in mining, trade, energy, agriculture, transportation, climate action and defence. The trip is also a reciprocal gesture following President Mahama's earlier visit to Libreville.
