M5.8 and 5.7 quakes jolt NW China

Two earthquakes struck Xinghai County in northwest China's Qinghai Province on July 28, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center.

Both quakes had a focal depth of 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) and were centered about 244 kilometers (152 miles) from Xining, the provincial capital. Social media videos showed light tremors being felt in Lanzhou, about 300 kilometers (186 miles) east of the epicenter. #FrontlineStory
