Deputy Attorney General Confirms Progress in Wontumi Plea Bargain Negotiations

Plea bargain negotiations between the State and the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, in the Exim Bank criminal case are at an advanced stage.

The Deputy Attorney General, Dr. Justice Srem-Sai, told the High Court that the prosecution and the defence have exchanged offers and are close to reaching an agreement.

However, the court ruled that the trial will continue while the plea bargain negotiations proceed.
