Ibrahim Mahama Denies VALCO Acquisition Claims, Threatens Legal Action

Businessman Ibrahim Mahama has denied claims that he is seeking to acquire the Volta Aluminium Company (VALCO), describing the allegations as false and announcing plans to pursue legal action against those responsible.
The denial follows a petition by the Industrial and Commercial Workers' Union (ICU)-Ghana to President John Dramani Mahama, urging government to halt any proposed sale of the state-owned aluminium company.
The union recently staged a protest march over reports of a possible VALCO sale, with some protesters alleging that the company could be acquired by Ibrahim Mahama, founder of Engineers & Planners and brother of the President.
In a statement issued by his Special Aide, Rafik Mahama, the businessman said he has neither expressed interest in acquiring VALCO nor submitted any offer for the company.
