Cuba marks rebellion anniversary
Cuba marked National Rebellion Day with a large political and cultural rally in Pinar del Río, commemorating the anniversary of the 1953 attack that launched the Cuban Revolution.
Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel criticized U.S. sanctions and the oil embargo, blaming them for worsening the country's economic crisis while highlighting recent economic reforms aimed at increasing investment and productivity. The event also celebrated achievements in agriculture, renewable energy and healthcare, with participants expressing support for the government and its response to ongoing economic challenges.
Traditional music and dance performances concluded the annual national commemoration. CGTN's Luis Chirino has this report from Havana.
