The Industrial and Commercial Workers' Union (ICU)-Ghana has staged a protest over the alleged sale of the Volta Aluminium Company (VALCO).
Since January 2026, some workers have repeatedly raised concerns over claims that the company has been put up for sale, allegedly involving the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Integrated Aluminium Development Corporation (GIADEC), Reindorf Twumasi Ankrah.
Speaking during the protest, ICU-Ghana General Secretary Morgan Ayawine said the action is aimed at protecting jobs and safeguarding the future of workers and the company.
