Workers Protest Alleged VALCO Sale, Demand Government Clarity

The Industrial and Commercial Workers' Union (ICU)-Ghana has staged a protest over the alleged sale of the Volta Aluminium Company (VALCO), warning that the move could threaten the jobs of workers.
The union is demanding clarity from the relevant authorities over the future of the company.
However, the Ghana Integrated Aluminium Development Corporation (GIADEC) maintains that VALCO is not being sold, explaining that it is instead pursuing a co-ownership arrangement with private sector partners as part of efforts to strengthen the company.
