Private legal practitioner Martin Kpebu says claims of politically motivated prosecutions are not new in Ghana, following the conviction and sentencing of New Patriotic Party (NPP) Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi.
Speaking on News Review, Martin Kpebu discussed the broader debate around allegations of political persecution and the history of such claims under successive governments.
The discussion comes after Chairman Wontumi was convicted in a mining-related case and sentenced to 20 years in prison by the High Court in Accra.
