Education authorities in the Amansie South District of the Ashanti Region are raising concerns over low literacy levels among schoolchildren in several communities.
They say challenges including inadequate teachers, poor road networks, illegal mining activities and limited learning materials are affecting educational outcomes and could impact performance in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
Authorities are calling for urgent interventions to improve learning conditions and support pupils in the affected communities.
